Extreme Tour Success - Fall 2007/Spring 2008!

The last stop on the 2007/2008 Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour was at Middlesex Community College in Bedford, MA on Tuesday, April 29th! After travelling to 36 colleges and speaking to over 7000 students, Michael Simmons & Sheena Lindahl share some interesting details from the road:

Tour Bus Miles: 20,000+

Frequent Flier Miles: Too manny to count!

Largest audience: 450

Smallest audience: 40

Biggest success and how you celebrated: Our biggest successes are having events that receive increasingly higher evaluations and going to more and more schools to spread the message of entrepreneurship. Celebrating it???  We should probably do that! We're on to our next goals now.

Biggest challenge and how you overcame: One night the bus broke down on the way to an event we had the next morning. We had to get the bus towed, unload all of our equipment, get a taxi to a rental car location 2 hours away, and drive overnight. We overcame it by knowing that we had no other choice, but to make it happen.

Most interesting keynote & why: The most interesting keynote I've ever had (not on the tour) was to a bi-lingual audience, much of whom didn't understand English. This cominbined with an age range of 5 years old to 50 years old made it a very interesting experience.

Most memorable student & why: There is not one that comes to mind. The most memorable kind of student is the one who really connects with the tour. When someone shares that it was one of the best experiences they had in college and they follow up with you sharing the steps they've taken, it makes our job really fulfilling.

Tour’s funniest moment: Ryan Allis, CEO of iContact and one of the keynote speakers, breakdancing in the center of campus after an event at Metro State College - Denver

Tour’s most embarrassing moment:  When backing out of a tight situation, we hit a tree and dented the bus!
