Great link and also great forum topic. As a young entrepreneur, I grew up during the dotcom boom. The philosophy at this time was build it and they (and the profit) will come. Since then, I've had to learn painfully that the best way to get off the ground is having people buy your product. This means doing sales (picking up the phone and calling people) or outbound marketing. It doesn't mean getting a million marketing brochures, getting an office space, incorporating, etc. Money from sales is what funds these.
