Do you have "FUD"?

Postby forumadmin on Thu Dec 06, 2007 3:23 pm

We have a great link in our resource section to "7 Lies That Prevent Your Great Idea from becoming a Real Business". In this blog, it discusses FUD - Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt. Our partners, the Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour, talk about FUD all the time. Their advice is simple - take action. What advice do you have?

Well, I don't have any advice....but just agreeing with the article & posting that FUD is the absolute reason why I haven't taken my business concept into reality. I would be very interested in hearing from other entrepreneurs who have taken the leap to hear how you dealt with the fear, uncertainty, & doubt of starting a business. What are some of your most valuable resources that you "can't live with"?

Becky...

Advice given on the Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour by Michael Simmons is to set a goal and make a little progress towards it each day. Example - If I want to build an e-commerce site...three things I can do towards reaching that goal:

1. Register with a domain seller like GoDaddy so that I can research and eventually purchase website URL's.

2. Research products I want to sell for at least 1 hour today

3. Spend 1 hour researching business planning tools - software and web-based.

It doesn't matter if you're a busy college student, stay-at-home mom, or a professional looking to transition to entrepreneurship - if you accomplish 3 small goals a day, you will start building momentum towards your goal. Remember - progress, not perfection!
